Our younger patients had an opportunity to “play dentist” when hygienists Helen Lindley and Joanne Goddard-Gallery hosted Dental Health Workshops as part of the practice’s National Smile Month activities.
National Smile Month is the UK’s largest and longest-running oral health campaign which aims to raise awareness of important health issues, and make a positive difference to the oral health of millions of people throughout the UK.
The fun but informative sessions catered for various age groups with the Under 5’s ‘Discovering the Dental Chair’ while 6-10 year olds concentrated on ‘Better Brushing’. Those aged 10 and over examined ‘Sugar in the Diet’ and there were competitions and prizes on offer for all.
Our pictures show Honey Lawson, aged 4½, looking a little serious whilst carrying out a check up for her best friend Teddy, but it was smiles all round later when Teddy helped Honey with her colouring competition entry and was relieved to have been passed dentally fit!
Also seen are 8 yr old Antoni Roberts having a careful look at his own teeth and brother Dominik (4) getting to grips with the polishing equipment.
