About Dental Health Checks

General Dental Check-Ups & Emergency Care

At Belle Vue Dental Practice, we believe that the best dentistry is preventive — helping you stay healthy, comfortable, and confident through every stage of life. That’s why regular dental check-ups are at the heart of what we do.

Prevention is Key

Looking after your oral health starts early — and continues for a lifetime. With routine check-ups, we can spot potential issues before they develop into bigger problems, helping you avoid discomfort, costly treatments, and dental emergencies.

Good oral health is a partnership. Alongside your visits to us, we’ll support you in building healthy habits at home, such as brushing, flossing, and a tooth-friendly diet.

Our routine dental exams include:

  • A full check of teeth and gums

  • Screening for gum disease and oral cancer

  • Advice tailored to your age, lifestyle, and health goals

We care for patients of all ages — from a child’s very first appointment to continued care in adulthood and beyond.

Emergency Dental Support – We’re Here When You Need Us

Despite our best efforts, dental emergencies can still happen — and we’re prepared for that too.

  • Same-day emergency appointments: If you’re in pain or have suffered an injury, we’ll always aim to see you the same day.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have a dental check-up?

Most patients benefit from seeing the dentist every six months, but we’ll advise the best interval for you based on your oral health needs. Some may need more frequent visits, while others may need less.

What should I do if I have a dental emergency?

Call the practice as soon as possible. We aim to offer same-day emergency appointments and have an on-call dentist available 365 days a year. If you’re a member of one of our dental plans, you’re also covered for emergencies while travelling — even abroad.

What’s included in a routine check-up?

A typical check-up includes an assessment of your teeth, gums, and soft tissues, screening for oral health issues, and personalised advice. If needed, we may also take X-rays to check areas that aren’t visible to the eye.
